The John Eastman Amendment
VERSION 1 The pardon power of the President is hereby abolished. VERSION 2 The power of the President to issue pardons, commutations or clemencies shall not extend to the President themselves, nor to the prior serving President; nor shall any President have power to pardon or commute the sentence of any member of their family by blood or marriage, any officials or federal employees who shall have served under them during their administration (whether elected, appointed or hired), or any person who shall have ever been employed by them in any private capacity, either for wages or as a volunteer. Any pardons, commutations or clemencies so issued shall be null and void on their face, and the issuance of such pardons, commutations or clemencies shall be considered an impeachable offense.
